YouTube giant PewDiePie (a.k.a. Felix Kjellberg) has been making videos since 2010, and we noticed that he’s been wearing Casio G-Shock watches in his most recent videos. PewDiePie rose to enormous fame with his humorous gaming videos. In August 2013, he became the most-subscribed channel on YouTube and expanded into making other types of content. In 2022, he moved to Japan with his wife Marzia, where is now raising his son and continuing to make videos for his 111 million subscribers.

In his most recent video “I made him cry..” (youtube.com), Felix is wearing a G-Shock GW-5000 as he enjoys a day out with his son.

In the “Our Winter Trip!” (youtube.com) video, he shows off a G-Shock DW-H5600 that his wife gave him for Valentine’s Day. The DW-H5600 is an advanced fitness model featuring an optical heart rate monitor.

Felix also wears the GW-5000 in Magnus Midtbø’s video “PewDiePie takes me bouldering in Tokyo” (youtube.com).

It appears that Felix recently started wearing the GW-5000 regularly, and it’s possible that living in Casio’s home country, where the GW-5000U-1JF is readily available in stores, led to a discovery and appreciation of the watch. The GW-5000 is highly recommended as a first G-Shock and daily wearer. It features the classic shape and stainless steel screw-back case of the original G-Shock DW-5000, along with modern features such as Tough Solar power and Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time adjustment. Prior to 2021, the GW-5000 was a Japan-only model (with the exception of some limited editions), but it is now available worldwide.
