Taehyung and Jungkook, members of the immensely popular boy band BTS, have been getting attention lately for their mandatory military service in South Korea, which they began in December 2023.
Taehyung (a.k.a. V), who serves in an elite special forces unit in the Military Police Corps, was spotted wearing a G-Shock wristwatch in February. The watch was identified by fans as the DW-5600BB-1, or perhaps it could be the newer DW-5600UBB-1 with the LED backlight and longer battery life. Jungkook, who reportedly serves as a cook, was also spotted wearing the same G-Shock model recently. Jungkook revealed in a livestream that his watch was a gift that he received from Cha Eun-woo before starting his military service.
Taehyung and Jungkook are expected to be discharged in June 2025, after which BTS is expected to reunite. Jungkook and other members of BTS were also known to wear G-Shock watches before their military service, including J-Hope (GA-110 and GD-120), Jin (GA-110), RM (GMW-B5000), and Suga (GA-110).
