The popular anime series Sailor Moon (based on the “Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon” or “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” manga) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and Casio is celebrating the occasion with the release of the limited edition Baby-G BA-110XSM-2AJR, in collaboration with creator Naoko Takeuchi and Toei Animation. Inspired by the Sailor Moon transformation scene, the watch has a slightly translucent navy blue bezel with a metallic moon and stars on the dial alongside the series logo. The special pattern on the purple band is made up of moons, stars, and hearts, which is also seen on the exclusive packaging. A silhouette of the Usagi Tsukino character appears on the band keeper and engraved on the case back. The watch will be released in August in Japan with a tax-included price of 20,900 yen.
Update: Casio America released the BA110XSM-2A for $160.
