To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of G-Shock, Canadian streetwear boutique Livestock is releasing a G-Shock DW6900 collaboration and hosting parties in Toronto and Vancouver. The gray watch has a “Route B” racing theme inspired by the “Bayshore Route” that encircles Tokyo, which in the 1990s became an infamous and illegal high-stakes circuit for modified street cars at night. The watch features exclusive design elements with Livestock branding and Japanese instructions in orange on the face, the highway symbol on the band, and a tachometer graphic laser-engraved on the case back. The watch will be released on September 8, 2023, with more details to come. (The Livestock website offers international shipping.)
The 40th Anniversary parties will feature musical performances by Surf Gang featuring Xaviersobased, RealYungPhil, and Harto Falion. Also performing are Dyltwosix, Louke Man, Nino Brown, and Young Teesh. The events are free and open to the public (age 19+), but capacity is limited and an RSVP is required. The Vancouver party takes place on September 7 at the Hollywood Theatre, and the Toronto party is on September 21 at The Great Hall. Doors open at 8 p.m. RSVP at deadstock.ca
Update: The DW6900LVS8 is now available for CA$200 at deadstock.ca, with international shipping available.
Update 2: G-Shock U.S. also released the DW6900LVS238 for $150 at casio.com/us.
