The upcoming hardcover book Exceptional Watches by Clément Mazarian features Casio G-Shock. The subtitle of the book is “From the Rolex Daytona to the Casio G-Shock, 90 rare and collectable watches explored,” which appears on the sleeve case, according to an image of the book. It’s not known which G-Shock model is covered, but it’s possibly the first G-Shock DW-5000C from 1983. The hardcover book is 232 pages and has an MSRP of $60.
The publisher’s description reads, “From mechanical watches to chronographs, quartz watches to divers’, Exceptional Watches will transport you through time, uncovering the histories behind the most coveted watch models. Collector Clément Mazarian of Collection Personelle tells the stories of 90 era-defining watches from the early 1900s up to the present day, each one meticulously catalogued and accompanied by a stunning image from celebrated photographer Henry Leutwyler. Illustrated technical pages clearly explain the mechanics of these timepieces, while profiles of the watches give readers insight into their cultural histories.”
The book appears to be a translated version of Collection Personnelle, which was previously released in France in 2022. On Amazon France (amazon.fr), the original book is labeled by Amazon as “#1 Most Gifted Items” in Jewelry Collections, with a 4.5 out of 5 average customer rating. Exceptional Watches will be released on October 15 by Amazon. There are also digital versions on various platforms for around half the price of the hardcover.
