Sanrio’s Hello Kitty is teaming up with Casio to release the limited edition G-Shock DW-5600KT24-1 which celebrates the Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary along with the Casio Watch 50th Anniversary.
The watch features celebratory black and gold colors including gold ion-plated buttons, bezel screws, and band buckle. A Hello Kitty logo sits prominently above the LCD display, and Kitty’s silhouette with anniversary text is printed in black on the lower band. The stainless steel case back is engraved with a Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary logo, and the EL backlight displays Hello Kitty’s iconic ribbon with a “G” in the middle (pictured above). The watch is made in Japan according to the case back and comes with exclusive packaging including a tin can case. The DW-5600KT24-1 is a standard-size G-Shock measuring 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 millimeters and weighing 52 grams.
This is actually the first Hello Kitty collaboration with G-Shock, as previous Casio collaborations were with the Baby-G brand. Earlier this year, the Hello Kitty x Baby-G BGD-565KT-7 was released, which also celebrated the Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary along with the Baby-G 30th Anniversary.
The G-Shock DW-5600KT24-1JR was announced for an October release in Japan with a tax-included price of 18,700 yen. The watch was not announced for other countries yet, but previous Hello Kitty collaborations with Baby-G were released worldwide.
Update: It appears that the watch may be released only in Japan, as it has not been announced for any other countries regions yet.
