Reputable leak distributor L&W of Watchuseek posted a photo of the as yet unannounced Casio “CRW-001GD-9” Ring Watch in a gold color with an inverted LCD display. This digital ring watch is assumed to be made of stainless steel (like the CRW-001-1) with a gold-colored ion plating, although it is possible to do metal injection molding with real gold. An article about the development of the CRW-001 from Casio foreshadowed this new model, as the article revealed the existence of inverted LCD displays for the series.
The original CRW-001-1, Casio’s first-ever functional ring watch, has been selling out quickly in every country since its initial release in late 2024. It is still due to be released in Europe and is expected to be restocked later in some (if not all) countries. There is no release information available yet for the gold CRW-001GD-9. We do not know if it will actually be released or is only a prototype, but it seems likely to be released at some point, considering the success of the CRW-001-1.
