Two new Pro Trek PRG-601 models with Tough Solar power and the Triple Sensor were released in the United States before anywhere else. These models feature a cloth band that is made from recycled plastic bottles and equipped with a quick-release lever. The PRG601YB-2 has a blue ion plated stainless steel bezel, blue dial, and blue band. The PRG601YB-3 has a black ion plated stainless steel bezel, olive green dial, and black band. Like other PRG-601 models, both have a case and case back made from bio-based resins. Each model measures 51.6 x 51.5 x 14.8 millimeters and weighs 60 grams, which is 1 gram heavier than the standard PRG-601-1 with a resin band and 15 grams lighter than a PRG-600YB model with a cloth band.
Features include Tough Solar power, 100-meter water resistance, Triple Sensor (pressure with altimeter and barometer, compass, thermometer), low-temperature resistance, (-10C/14F), world time, 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer (with 1 second to 60 minutes range), 5 daily alarms, hourly time signal, Neobrite luminous hands and markers, full auto double LED light, button tone on/off, full auto-calendar, battery level indicator, and a hand shift function to clear the hands from the LCD display.
The PRG601YB-2 and The PRG601YB-3 are currently available for $320 each at casio.com/us. They are also currently available for pre-orders from Amazon.com with a large discount and a release date of August 15. These two models were released only in the U.S. so far, but they are likely to be released in other countries soon.
