Casio reveals the silver G-Shock MRG-B2100D-1A

Casio revealed the upcoming silver G-Shock MRG-B2100D-1A at instagram.com/gshock_casio_official, which is likely to be released in October. This is the second MRG-B2100 release and follows the black MRG-B2100B-1A from June which had a $4,800 price. Like that watch, the MRG-B2100D-1A is a peak MR-G model made at Casio’s Premium Production Line in Japan.

Previous silver (“D”) analog MR-G models often had a black DLC-coated top bezel like the MRGB1000D-1A and MRGB2000D-1A, but the MRG-B2100D-1A appears to be completely silver with no DLC. Casio stated in the post that the bezel, case, and band are treated with a titanium carbide finish. The dial has the same kigumi-inspired 3D texture and pattern of the MRG-B2100B-1A. The expected materials are Ti64 titanium alloy for the case and case back, DAT55G titanium alloy for the band links, and Cobarion for the top bezel. (Update: These materials are the same as the MRG-B2100B and were confirmed by Casio in a second Instagram post about the MRG-B2100D-1A, which also mentions that these alloys are made in Japan.) With no DLC, the MRG-B2100D-1A should be less expensive than the MRG-B2100B-1A, as was the case with the aforementioned MR-G models with less DLC and their full DLC counterparts. (In the case of the MRG-B5000, the MRGB5000D-1 is $500 less than the MRGB5000B-1.)

Features include shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, magnetic resistance, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, Tough Solar, Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time adjustment, Bluetooth smartphone link, full auto-calendar, and LED light. Auto time adjustment is also available with Bluetooth and the Casio Watches smartphone app, and other app functions include easy watch setting, time & place log, watch status display, self check, phone finder, and Premium Production Line certificate.

Update: In the U.S., the MRGB2100D-1A will be $4,200 and is expected to be released in October 2024.
