G-Shock AWG-M100FP-1A2 and GW-2320FP-1A2 are available for pre-ordering in the U.S.

It’s unusual to see the newer G-Shock models being sold by Amazon itself (as opposed to third-party sellers on Amazon), but that is the case with the AWG-M100FP-1A2 ($160) and GW-2320FP-1A2 ($150), both of which are now available for pre-ordering directly from Amazon.com with a release date of March 31, 2025. Both models are also expected to be sold at gshock.casio.com/us soon.

These two watches are the annual “Fire Package” models in Japan, which typically come early in the year and are designated as limited editions. According to Casio, the “Fire” term refers to a person’s mindset when taking on new challenges, and the colors are meant to give an impression of energy and youth. Casio describes the color accents on the aluminum bezel parts as “cool blue,” although it appears to be a light violet color in the images and Neel’s video (youtube.com). These two watches are unexpected releases in the U.S., as Fire Package models from the previous two years, featuring more traditional black-gold and black-red colors, were not released there.

In the past, Fire Package watches came in a trunk-like case in Japan, but they now come with special packaging that is more eco-friendly. It’s not known if these models will include this packaging outside of Japan.

These models represent an earlier era of G-Shock and are mid-size watches that can accommodate a wide range of wrist sizes (5.7 to 8.46 inches). The GW-2300 originated in the early 2000s with the G-2300, and the AWG-M100 originated as the AWG-100 in the late 2000s. Although they are not frequently heralded by G-Shock outside of the Fire Package releases, they have remained popular series with a timeless design.

Both models are equipped with Tough Solar power and Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time adjustment in supported regions. The GW-2320FP-1A2 is notable for being the only active GW-23XX model in the U.S. with the updated module 3537 with LED backlight instead of the EL backlight. The AWG-M100FP-1A2 is notable for being one of the few affordable analog-digital models with Tough Solar power, but compared to the GA-B2100, it has only a single LED light and not the double LED light with a backlit LCD display. (The Amazon product page states that the GW-2320FP-1A2 has the EL Backlight, which is incorrect, and you can see the “Full Auto LED Light” label on the watch image.)
