Casio officially unveiled the G-Shock Frogman MRG-BF1000RG-3A to be released in Japan and Asia in May 2025, with other regions expected to follow. The watch has a silver-gray and green military-like color combination and is inspired by the goliath frog from western Africa, which is the world’s largest living frog. The MRG-BF1000RG-3A is the fourth MRG-BF1000 model and features a titanium case and bezel with a deep layer hardening and titanium carbide treatment. The watch is paired with a Dura Soft fluoro rubber band, and the screw lock case back has a sapphire insert with a green vapor deposition.
The MRG-BF1000RG-3A is part of G-Shock’s top diving series and features ISO Diver’s 200M water resistance, shock resistance, Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment, and Bluetooth smartphone link. Other features include magnetic resistance, sapphire glass with internal anti-reflective coating, tide graph, diving mode with dive time and surface time measurement and 30-record log data, Neobrite luminous paint on the hands and hour markers, dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer, LED light, and full auto calendar. The watch measures 56 x 49.7 x 18.6 millimeters and weighs 132 grams.
This is the first MRG-BF1000 model without a diamond-like carbon coating, and the price is a little lower than the MRG-BF1000R-1A which also had a fluoro rubber band. In Japan, the MRG-BF1000RG-3AJR has a tax-included price of 572,000 yen. [Update: The reported price in Europe is 4,900 euros with a June 2025 release, so it might be $4,900 in the U.S. G-Shock U.K. has the price listed as 4,400 pounds.] As part of G-Shock’s flagship MR-G line, the watch is made in Japan at Casio’s Premium Production Line.
