G-Shock will be releasing the MRG-B5000R-1 in January 2024, which is the first MRG-B5000 model with a Dura Soft fluoro rubber band. This premium Japan-made model features an individually polished multi-piece bezel made of titanium and Cobarion, a DLC-coated case, and a sapphire crystal. The watch has a black and gold color scheme that is reminiscent of the classic DW-5000C-1B, which was one of the debut G-Shock models from 1983. The outer side of the band has a uniquely textured pattern of Shock Resist symbols and the inner side has a brick pattern. The watch is equipped with Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment, and Bluetooth smartphone link. It measures 49.4 x 43.2 x 12.9 millimeters and weighs 103 grams, which is eleven grams lighter than MRG-B5000 models with a titanium band.
In Japan, the MRG-B5000R-1JR has a tax-included price of 396,000 yen.
Update: G-Shock U.S. released the MRGB5000R-1 for $3,100.
