G-Shock MTG-B2000YBD-2A offers subdued blue-gray colorway with lightweight carbon bezel frame

G-Shock MT-G MTG-B2000YBD-2A Blue-Gray with Carbon Bezel Frame

G-Shock is introducing the MTG-B2000YBD-2A in May 2025 starting in Japan. This deluxe MTG-B2000 model features a carbon bezel frame, a blue-gray ion-plated finish on the top bezel and buttons, and a black ion-plated layer composite band made of stainless steel and a thin blue resin inner layer. The style is similar to the red-accented MTG-B2000YBD-1A from 2021, and the carbon bezel frame results in a lighter weight of 131 grams, compared to 156 grams for MTG-B2000 models with a stainless steel bezel frame and composite band. Like that 1A model, the bezel frame is made of layers of carbon and fiberglass, resulting in the appearance of blue lines on the sides of the watch. The blue-gray dial of the MTG-B2000YBD-2A is more subdued than the 1A, with blue accents used only for the day of week display and base of the second hand. The hands are coated with Neobrite luminous paint, and there also appears to be lume applied at the ends of the hour markers like the 1A.

The MTG-B2000YBD-2A has a carbon fiber-reinforced monocoque case, Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment, Bluetooth smartphone link, and Triple G Resist (with protection against shock, centrifugal force, and vibration). Other features include shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, sapphire glass with internal anti-reflective coating, dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarm, LED light, and full auto calendar. The watch measures 55.1 x 49.8 x 15.9 millimeters.

The MTG-B2000YBD-2AJF will have a tax-included price of 181,500 yen in Japan and is expected to be released worldwide. (The previous black-red MTGB2000YBD1 was $1,200 in the U.S.)
