Like the Frogman, the Rangeman GW-9400 has become another signature model for Love The Sea And The Earth limited editions, and it is a regular canvas for animal-inspired Earthwatch collaborations to promote environmental awareness. February 2019 already saw the release of the GW-9404KJ-3JR Earthwatch collab inspired by the kakapo parrot. November will see the release of the G-Shock Rangeman GW-9405KJ-5JR, which is inspired by the okapi, also known on the forest giraffe.
The endangered okapi is native to Central Africa and has a brown body with a reddish or orange-tinged head and zebra-like striped legs. The watch reflects these colors with a brown case with orange accents and a striped band. The watch also has an Earthwatch logo on the EL backlight and a Love The Sea And The Earth engraved case back, and it comes in a special striped box.
The Rangeman is one of the most popular G-Shock models and is a versatile survival watch featuring Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto-adjusting radio timekeeping, and the Triple Sensor (with altimeter-barometer, compass, and thermometer).
The GW-9405KJ-5JR is a November 2019 release in Japan with a list price of 56,000 JPY.
