Casio G-Shock watches have been spotted in various posters and the trailer for the upcoming A24 film Warfare. The movie is written and directed by former Navy SEAL, Iraq War veteran, and Silver Star recipient Ray Mendoza along with Alex Garland (Civil War, Ex Machina). Based on real events as remembered by Mendoza, the movie depicts the actions of a Navy SEAL squad as they unfold in real time. It is highly anticipated for its expected realism and intensity, which are on full display in the trailer (embedded below).

Several characters appear to wear G-Shock DW-5600 watches in some of the movie posters, including actor Kit Connor’s character Tommy. Some characters also appear to wear G-Shock watches in the movie, based on the contents of the trailer.

Navy SEALs are known to wear G-Shock watches in real life, but they are usually associated with the DW-6600, DW-6900, DW-9052, and G-9000, all of which have a front light button. The inclusion of the DW-5600 in the film and posters could possibly be the result of a product placement deal with G-Shock, which has been pushing several Origin-themed 5000-5600 models recently, such as the DW5000R, DW5600RL-1 (casio.com), and GW5000HS. Or it might be possible that members of Mendoza’s squad favored the slimmer profile of the DW5600E-1V for land use, as it is also a popular model in the military and has a NATO stock number.

Warfare features a multi-national ensemble cast of rising actors and opens on Friday, April 11, in the United States.
