The analog-digital G-Shock GA100RGB-1A from the Virtual Rainbow Series, known as the “Gamer’s RGB Series” in the U.S., has been selling out at online retailers in the U.S. two days after release. Casio.com and Reeds Jewelers, the first two American retailers to sell the series online, are now sold out. This was somewhat unexpected, and there does not appear to be a worldwide shortage, as the GA-100RGB-1A is still available from Casio websites in several Asian countries. The watch is expected to be sold by other retailers soon, and we don’t know if it will continue to sell at such a rapid pace.
The GA100RGB-1A distinguishes itself from the other analog-digital models in the series with its unique dial treated with a gradated vapor deposition for a metallic rainbow-like appearance. The DW6900RGB-1 also has a gradated rainbow face, but that model has a full digital LCD display. The series combines shades of red, green, and blue for a gaming-inspired virtual style.
