The new G-Shock GM-2110D series featuring a stainless steel bezel and band is expected to be officially announced soon and launched in September. Casio Mexico publicly listed the new models prematurely (and then removed them), but they are still indexed by Google which is showing that the price listed for each model was MX$7,349. This converts to about $391 in U.S. dollars. However, when converted from pesos to U.S. dollars, the prices of other G-Shock watches at Casio Mexico are also higher than the official U.S. list prices. Another G-Shock that has a list price of MX$7,349 in Mexico is the Gravitymaster GR-B300, which is $300 in the U.S. Based on these similarities, it’s likely that a GM2110D model will be $300 in the U.S. Under this reasoning, GM-2110D models should be 49,500 yen in Japan and 299 euros in some European countries. It’s possible that those Mexican prices are not accurate, and we won’t be entirely surprised if the prices end up being a little higher.
Update: Japanese watch site WebChronos stated that the GM-2110D-2AJF has a tax-included price of 60,500 yen in Japan. Another model that will have the same price (taking into account G-Shock price increases for Japan in September) is the GW-9500-1JF, which is currently $380 in the U.S. It remains to be seen if G-Shock prices will also be raised in the U.S.
$300 would place it at $100 more than the GM2100-1A (stainless steel bezel with black resin band) and $250 less than the full metal GMB2100D-1A with screw-back case, Tough Solar, and Bluetooth, which seems like a very fair price for customers. Considering that it offers an almost identical style as the GM-B2100 (but in different colors), it is likely to be a hot seller at $300. Although it’s difficult to predict which models will sell out these days, if the price is below $400, we suggest deciding on your colorway(s) before launch and not waiting too long.
Some European retail sites listed prices as low as 289 euros, but most of these listings were also removed. None of these prices are official yet, and we should get a better idea if they’re accurate when the series is announced (in Japan), which is expected to happen by September 1.
