Japanese news site Mynavi revealed two new G-Shock GM-110 models that are coming to Japan in March and expected to be released worldwide. [Update: As of late March, they have not been announced outside of Japan.] These models are notable for having a stainless steel bezel and being the first GM-110 models with a stainless steel band. They also reportedly have a center case made of resin and carbon fiber, which is a first for any GM-110 or 110 model.
The GM-110D-8AJF (60,500 yen) has a silver bezel and band and a gun metal dial with a non-inverted LCD display. The GM-110BD-1A9JF (69,300 yen) has a black ion-plating on the bezel and band and a gold dial with an inverted LCD display. Each watch weighs 168 grams.
The metal-covered GM-110 was inspired by the resin GA-110 from 2010 which has been one of the best-selling G-Shock series of all time. The GM-110 (51.9 x 48.8 x 16.9 mm) is slightly smaller than the GA-110 (55 × 51.2 × 16.9 mm) in order to make a metal version more manageable on various wrist sizes. There is also the smaller metallic GM-S110 series for women.
Update: The GM110BD-1A9 ($350) and GM110D-8A ($300) will be released in the U.S.
