New Zealand street artist Owen Dippie releases second G-Shock collaboration, with DW-5600

New Zealand-based street artist and muralist Owen Dippie is launching another G-Shock collaboration on Saturday, May 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Nineteen store at 19 Williamson Avenue in Auckland. The watch appears to be a DW-5600 (DW-5600MS-1) with a custom band designed by the artist. “Since 83” and a cloud-like shape (which is an outline of his previous initials tag) is printed on the lower band, and the upper band is printed with hand-drawn Japanese characters which appear to be Owen Dippie’s name in Japanese. The watch comes in a special case that resembles a paint can. The “Aotearoa” name on the can is the Maori name for New Zealand. There are two versions of the watch, one with the band art printed with black paint that comes in a black and white can, and one printed with red paint that comes in a red and white can. The black version is limited to 60 watches and the red version is limited to 10 watches.

Owen Dippie previously collaborated with G-Shock New Zealand for a limited GD-350 release in 2018.
