Casio is introducing the all-new Pro Trek Hiker Line with the launch of the PRJ-B001 series in July, which will be the lightest Pro Trek series ever. As the “001” in the name suggests, this series takes a noticeably different approach to the Pro Trek lineup and offers a somewhat minimalist design with scaled-back functions and a unique exterior.
The octagonal bezel rotates 45 degrees counterclockwise to reveal access to the buttons, which are usually protected from accidental pressing in the guarded position. The watch is equipped with Tough Solar power and Bluetooth smartphone link, but it does not have the Triple Sensor that Pro Trek watches are typically known for. While the full specifications have not been released yet, the usual functions found on Bluetooth-equipped G-Shock watches are expected to be available, such as auto time correction, time and place log, auto summer time (DST) switching, 300-city world time, phone finder, and possibly more. Other known features include 100-meter water resistance, low temperature resistance (to -10C or 14F), world time, stopwatch, timer, alarm, and double LED light.

The watch measures 50.3 x 46.0 x 13.6 millimeters. The three debut models include the black PRJ-B001-1, off-white PRJ-B001-7, and blue PRJ-B001B-2. The first two models weigh 44 grams, and the PRJ-B001B-2, which comes with a unique band featuring a bungee cord and hook fastening, weighs 37 grams. The bungee cord band is said to be easier to put on and take off, particularly when wearing the watch over outerwear clothing or attaching it to bags or equipment.
The PRJ-B001-1JF, PRJ-B001-7JF, and PRJ-B001B-2JF are coming to Japan in July with a tax-included price of 25,300 yen. The series is likely to be released internationally but has not been announced in other countries yet.
