The G-Shock DWE-5600 with Carbon Core Guard (carbon fiber-reinforced case) is a special edition that is used as the base for limited edition box sets that include multiple bezels and bands. The DWE-5600 uses the same module as the DW-5600 but the bezel attaches to the case without screws and can be removed quickly with the included tool. The bands have quick-release levers. The DWE-5610 with Carbon Core Guard is also used as the base for the “My G-Shock” watch customization service by Casio Japan.

Recent DWE-5600 models are equipped with module 3525, which has an LED backlight instead of the EL Backlight of module 3229, and an improved 5-year approximate battery life.

Note: The DWE-5657RE-1 is not listed as a Carbon Core Guard model by Casio, but certain YouTube videos revealing the case show that it is a carbon fiber reinforced case.
