It has the similar functions as the GD-B500, including step-counting data with daily goal setting and progress display, dual time, stopwatch with 200-lap memory, countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, and auto LED backlight. A feature that the GD-B500 lacks is the interval timer featuring 5 time settings from 1 second to 60 minutes with auto repeat (up to 20) and auto start (5-second pre-count). Another advantage over the GD-B500 is the target time alarm for the stopwatch, which allows up to 10 target time settings with the watch beeping for 10 seconds when a target time is reached.

The G-Shock GD-B500 is a unique fitness-oriented model equipped with Bluetooth smartphone link, a step counter, and a 200-record lap memory. It is also notable for its very light weight and slim size. At 11 millimeters thick, it is currently the thinnest men’s G-Shock watch. The band is designed to fit a large range of wrist sizes (from 5.7 to 7.9 inches), making it suitable for women too.
A daily step goal (from 1,000 to 50,0000) can be set and tracked automatically by the watch, with the goal progress viewable as a graph on the watch display in timekeeping mode. There are also indicators for goal attainment and (optional) step reminder. The step count data and lap records can be transferred to the smartphone app with Bluetooth for viewing, where the 24-hour and weekly step counts are viewable, along with calories burned for each step count category. The daily step count is also viewable on the watch and offers a step count graph for the past seven hours plus the current hour, along with the total step count number. Lap records with lap and split time are viewable on the watch, as well as the phone app.

The G-Shock GBD-300 is the slimmest G-SQUAD fitness series (as of July 2024) and features an octagonal bezel inspired by the G-Shock GA-2100. With its high-contrast MIP LCD display, step counter, and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, it offers the same walking and running log functions as the GBD-200, along with other practical features such as phone notifications and vibrating alerts.
