A recent leak indicates that two new G-Shock GW-5000 models will be released in the first quarter of 2025. One is black with an inverted display, and the other is white with a non-inverted display. According to the leaked image, the face style of these two models is different than the GW-5000U-1 and more like the GW-M5610U-1 (with the Shock Resist logo on the upper left) but in a monochrome style. This alternative layout has been seen before on previous GW-5000 models. According to the leak, these models will be released in Japan only, but it’s not clear if that means only in Japan initially or indefinitely.
The Origin-themed GW-5000 is a made-in-Japan series featuring a DLC-coated stainless steel case and screw-back, soft urethane band, Tough Solar, and Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time adjustment. The GW5000U-1 is available for $300 at casio.com/us.
GW-5000 models are known for their black diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating on the stainless steel case and screw lock back.
